The Goldenrod, a favorite flower in America, grows along dry roadsides, moist wood, swamps, peat bogs and cultivated gardens. The bright yellow, or deep golden, flowers grow in thick graceful clusters at the top of the slender wand like stem. Falsely accused of causing hay fever and allergies, its pollen is too moist and sticky to float freely through the air. About 100 kinds of this lovely flower grow in North America.
